Beginning this past the fall, I have had the opportunity to serve on the College Promo Team for one of my favorite bands, The Lonely Biscuits. The purpose of this team is to get more people to notice the band around college campuses. I am responsible for promoting and advertising new music and shows using social media (Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat), posters and word of mouth.
In June of 2016 I was asked by my former internship advisor to be a student editor for the Auburn University College of Education magazine, Keystone. I was responsible for reading and proofreading the magazine for any grammatical and placement errors. Keystone is a magazine that is published each spring and fall. This issue, Volume XII, had a total of 76 pages. You can find my name on page 3.
During my junior year at Auburn, I had the opportunity to serve as a PR intern for the Performance and Health Optimization Center in the Auburn University School of Kinesiology. Throughout this internship, I was able to interview students, faculty and professors for articles that were published on the AU College of Education website. Using these articles, I designed and compiled the quarterly newsletter for both fall and spring. I also assisted with research and outreach for the Olympic Training Site and USA Team Handball.
For the summer of 2015, I had the chance to work with the Parkinson Association of Alabama, Inc. This is a nonprofit organization based in Birmingham, Alabama, that aims to improve the lives of those affected by Parkinson's Disease throughout the state. I created the program for the Annual Birmingham Symposium that was held in June. I also promoted the symposium through phone calls and social media.
